Falling Leaves Tea

It’s tea season again! I’ve finished harvesting this year’s herbs (ok, the elecampane still needs to come in…) and as I get some much-needed rest, the tea ideas are starting to swirl. Rather like…heyyyyy, that sounds like a great name for a tea!

Falling Leaves Tea: Hibiscus flowers, hawthorn leaves, marshmallow root, and mulling spices

I’ve had this idea that the demulcent qualities of marshmallow root would make the herbs swirl slowly through the liquid, almost like a snow globe. I think it worked out rather well! For the full effect, cold-brew the tea overnight, heat, then strain. But it’s also perfectly delicious brewed as you normally would. It’s pretty spectacular made in a glass French press, so you can see all the swirling goodies!

Keep an eye out for more new teas coming soon! You can order in the online store or find my teas at Agricole and upcoming Chelsea “winter market” events like Jacob’s Fresh Farm’s “Christmas on the Farm” market Nov. 30th.
